Publication Information

A free urban newspaper. Circulation in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Los Angeles and Orange County scheduled for August 1995.
Frequency: Monthly; twelve times per year.
On-Line Presence: A World Wide Web site at http://www.cybertoday.com/cybertoday/ publishes the newspaper electronically and provides print advertisers with additional impressions and exposure.
Circulation: 30,000 in Northern California. 40,000 in Southern California.
Distribution sites: Computer stores, computer user groups, coffee shops, community gatherings, key corporate sites and a paid mailing list.

Editorial Focus

Cyberspace Today uses newsprint to publish a fast-paced monthly magazine of news, advertising, directories, features and tutorials to the 10 million people in California who want access to the new information world known as the cyberspace.

California residents are starved for information on how to use their computer to access the on-line world. Cyberspace Today provides the ideal on-line launching pad for those people.

Using great art and copy that draws readers into the growing world of the Internet and on-line services Cyberspace Today keeps the intrigued home computer user involved in the cyberspace.

Demographics

Cyberspace Today targets current and potential home computer owners: professionals, parents, students, teenagers and hobbyists. At least one million households in California have access to a computer with a modem or a network connection. Millions more want to learn more about how to gain access to the Internet and see computer ownership and purchasing on-line access as a way to get on the net.

The average Cyberspace Today reader is a buyer and decision maker in personal computer equipment and on-line services, 75% male, around 25 to 59 years old, 90% college educated, 30% parents with school-age children, and a high household income (between $80,000 and $40,000).

Acceptance of Advertising

Professional and non-professional products. Advertising accepted and published entirely on the consideration that the advertiser and/or the agency will indemnify and save the publisher harmless from and against any claims or suits based upon any aspect or subject matter or advertisement. The publisher reserves the right to reject advertisements considered unacceptable as to worded or appearance, or any other reason. Advertising that simulates editorial content is not accepted.

Financial Terms

All rates listed are NET. To calculate GROSS rates for agencies add 15%.

Net 20 days on approved credit. Net 5 or COD required for new advertisers. A signed Insertion Order constitutes an agreement by the advertiser to pay Cyberspace Today for advertising based on the terms set out in this rate card. Longer term contracts are available.

Three four-color positions are available per section: Left inside fold, right inside fold and back cover. The current production schedule calls for one section.

The line screen is 85 lpi. Black and White art printed on a 300 dpi laser printer is acceptable.

Two color orders should include the Pantone number for spot color.

Four color art must by supplied on CMYK film (l/s 85 lpi) and include a color key.

Design Charges

Artistic and design services are available to produce new advertisements for $100 per hour. All art produced is available to advertisers on disk.
